In 2019, Faith Matters Network launched its first Disciples of Welcome cohort. For over two years, FMN accompanied 50 United Methodist Clergy in North Carolina through the highs and lows of ministry leadership, and the effects of the pandemic & deeply polarizing times within the UMC denomination at large. Learning Journeys such as this one are meant to foster individual healing which grows the psycho-social capacity of clergy and spiritually grounded leaders to continue engaging in the taxing work of social change long-term in their communities. Here is a recap of the top four lessons learned from their time together since 2019.
