    Description

In 2020, Faith Matters Network hosted a community conversation with Roshi Joan Halifax, Zen Buddhist teacher and founder of Upaya Zen Center to contemplate how we might play the roles we’re called to play amidst a pandemic – while taking care of our hearts and bodies so that we might emerge strong on the other side.

The sheer numbers and scale of loss in our country and around our world during the COVID-19 pandemic was no doubt unprecedented times for us as a society. At the same time, we were being called to witness and experience loss– whether it was from a close loved one, colleagues, or community members – and learn how to hold it all without falling into empathic distress or total dissociation. Enjoy the wisdom shared during this powerful virtual gathering and may it ring true today for wherever you are on your journey with loss and grief.
